I won’t deny that Anne Hathaway lost weight to play Fantine in a dangerous way. And I would NEVER encourage that. But. It’s interesting that Anne Hathaway losing weight for a role and talking about it is OMG BAD EXAMPLE FOR GIRLS EVERYWHERE. She’s too thin! She has a responsibility to model healthy eating!

But when Christian Bale or Matthew McConaughey loses a lot of weight for a role it’s OMG REALLY IMPRESSIVE AND AREN’T THEY SO DEDICATED TO THEIR CRAFT?

Something about that double standard really rubs me the wrong way and I can’t put my finger on why.
